ScotRail station at Gretna on the Carlisle-Dumfries line, near the English border and the start/end area for cycle routes into Scotland. ScotRail carries bikes at no charge; some journeys need a space reserved in advance. On ScotRail/Northern services from Carlisle no booking is needed (per South West Scotland Cycle Training).
